Any account type has the possibility for a great return in investment under certain market conditions. However, the futures market is one that involves a great deal of risk. Many markets can and do have wild price fluctuations on a daily basis that can either reap great rewards or cause substantial loss. Although diversification in investments is important, only risk capitol should be used in accounts along with smart trading techniques. Please ask us any questions you might have in regard to risk and risk management in the futures markets.
Speculative Accounts
Speculative accounts are those meant for investment purposes only and do not have underlying hedging motives. These types of accounts allow for a great deal of personalization as one can invest in any market, whether it is soybeans or foreign currencies. As the investor decides the trades, Mr. Bower personally gives advice to each of his clients as to the continuing changing market conditions in any given situation. Speculative accounts are subject to margin calls and have fixed rate commission schedules. Individual speculative accounts do require the investor to take an active role in their investments in deciding when to get in and out of the market . The challenge of the futures market is one that will keep both the novice and seasoned investor busy with its moves and patterns that vary greatly from that of the stock markets.
Hedging Accounts
For today's agricultural producers , Risk Management is an aspect of marketing that is too valuable to ignore. Producers of all commodities have seen the international marketplace growing and expanding in the past few years causing great fluctuations in prices. Some of this variable risk can be limited with the implementation and execution of a proper hedging strategy. Although these plans can seem quite overwhelming at first, our goal is to work with you to meet your marketing needs. Our staff has decades of experience from both behind a desk, and in the production aspect, thus allowing you to make the most informed decisions possible. We also make sure that you understand each of the trades as to how and why it is used in reference to your entire marketing plan. Many of our hedging strategies make use of both futures and options in order to provide the most protection possible.
